JOB SUMMARY: 

The Accounting Intern role offers significant opportunity to actively participate in the monthly financial close process including the process of journal entries, update supporting documents, and support policies and procedures related to SOX controls, corporate policies, and related GAAP requirements. This is a collaborative role that will work cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A and Treasury.

This paid internship will last ten to twelve weeks and will require you to spend time in our Oak Brook office.  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance major. 
  • General understanding of US GAAP
    • Capacity to build rapport and establish effective working relationships with team members and other stakeholders.
    • Solid PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel and Word)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Participate in the monthly financial close including the recording of journal entries and the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  •  Support and promote policies and procedures related to SOX controls, corporate policies and procedures and related GAAP requirements.
  •  Assist in preparing supporting schedules for internal/external auditors and responding to audit inquiries including financial schedules, analysis, or other disclosures.
  •  Examine the Company's current processes and make improvements where applicable.
  •  Work on ad hoc projects as needed, such as implementation of technology tools.
