Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (8 Sandwiches)

We grew up in Chicago. We love, love, love Portillo’s. I sent this to my daughter for her birthday. Paid $45 for express delivery. Her brothers were there from Atlanta and Chicago. We joined them a few days later from Florida. The package came with two packs of beef. Both packs had nice hefty slices on the top of the pack. But deeper inside the pack, all the beef was just mealy. It was as though it was the leftovers from slicing the beef. There were very few true slices of beef. We visit the Portillo’s in the West Loop all the time. We’ve never been served a sandwich like the ones that were delivered. We always get nice hardy slices of beef. I would buy delivery again if I was guaranteed, I would not have the poor quality beef that came. Extra disappointed.!!!

The food was delicious and plenty of it. I really enjoy your tamales, but you have to order 40 of them. This quantity would not only fill up my freezer it would take a long time to eat. It would be great if you could order a smaller quantity.

Italian beef was great, but one of the gravy bags was compromised with a hole in the bag and leaked everywhere, so I was short a bag. But everything else was great.

Best beef sandwiches. Order was shipped and received exactly as expected! When you move away from Portillo’s, it is nice to know you can still enjoy the best beef sandwiches any time you want!

Being from Chicago originally, our family has always loved Portillo's. It's wonderful that they offer free nationwide shipping so it makes it a no-brainer to order on-line. The quality of the food is still excellent and the taste is exactly as we remember - fantastic! And even though the Italian Beef Sandwich Kit says it serves 8 people, it could actually serve around 12 if they supplied 4 extra buns. But I know how Portillo's likes to really stuff their sandwiches! I wish they would offer the option of purchasing extra buns!

No one makes Italian Beefs like Portillos, can't be beat!!

I ordered this for my grandmother and it was terrible. The bread was hard as a rock and the meat looked disgusting. I can’t believe I spent all that money.

Also loved. Just the way a beef sandwich should taste. Really do miss Chicago's beef sandwich

It is very expensive. Hoping the price of this product will decrease overtime.

Tastes just like home! I wish portillos had more locations in the south. I also wish they shipped cheese fries and burgers too!

Amazing as always! We drive from Las Vegas to Moreno Valley ca a 7 hr roundtrip just to get portillos yum sometimes we just have it flown in!

The food was amazing and the serving size was more than I expected, which was great!

I was born and raised in Chicago the Italian Beef is me and my Family best food from Chicago We use to drive there for vacation every year and that would be my only meal the whole trip and we would bring some back I am so happy that I can now order it and I try to once a month

Love Portillos! However this time one of the gravy bags broke open in shipping and made a mess of the whole package. We managed to salvage what we could and still got some decent sandwich’s out of the order. Just a bummer.

I wish you would modify your ordering process to include special orders, like extra bread! We starved for good bread in OKC.

We are originally from Chicago and ate Portillos a couple times every week for years. We are thrilled to be able to order Portillo's products at the drop of a hat. I even gave someone in my family some for Christmas. They will now probably start ordering also.

We absolutely LOVE our Portillo's beef and are so thankful we can have it shipped to us. The cost HAS gone up again, but I guess that is to be expected.... The only complaint I have is the leaking gravy....the tubs the gravy used to come in almost ALWAYS leaked in transit--so we were so happy to see gravy switched into bags. However......the bags sometimes leak too! When I open out box I immediately place the gravy bags into large plastic ziplock baggies to catch all that yummy goodness.... But overall---we will absolutely continue to order this delicious treat. (When we visit family in the Chicagoland area we ALWAYS make at least TWO trips to a brick and mortar Portillo's! It's a MUST!)

I’ve ordered a box at least once a year for the past few years and this most recent one saw a drop off in both the quality of the product, but most especially the packaging. The rolls are smaller than they used to be, and switching from the tubs to bags for gravy transport is a big mistake. I opened my box as soon as I got it, and both gravy backs were cracked, thawing, and leaking.

The quality was not as good as it used to be. The peppers turned to mush, in the beef fell apart before I got it in the gravy. There was a lot of shavings left over on this one. However, the taste was amazing and we had a wonderful time with the food. My mom is from Taylor St., Illinois, and my dad went to high school with Dick Portillo. It brought back a lot of memories.

It was shipped fast and the food was great. The only complaint is that one of the gravy packages had a hole in it so the little bit that did defrost during shipping leaked out onto the rest of the box and was a bit of a mess.

It was a horrible shipping experience. It was supposed to arrive on May 14 the day of my son-in-law’s birthday. It said it was to arrive by 3 PM. They had people coming over to celebrate his birthday and this was their dinner. Then the time changed to 8 PM that didn’t work for their dinner plans so they did something different for food as it turned out, it never came that evening It finally came late the next day. Very disappointing.

They said it was good, the only issue I had is, I asked to have it delivered on a certain day and it was delivered a day early. Which is fine if the person was there. Normally that’s a good thing something is delivered early but in this case it’s a business.
