Whether you’re near or far, enjoy Chicago’s finest! Our Famous Italian Beef is thinly sliced and slow-roasted for 4 hours in our secret blend of Italian spices. Customize each sandwich to your liking by adding over roasted sweet peppers, hot giardiniera peppers, and as much of our secretly spiced gravy as you'd like!
This sandwich kit serves 8-10 people and includes the following:

  • Portillo's signature gravy (2 qts)
  • French bread rolls (16)
  • Oven roasted sweet peppers (8 oz)

  • Prices include standard 2 day shipping Monday - Wednesday. Additional fees for Standard Overnight, Priority Overnight and Saturday Shipping. Additional fees also apply to shipments to Alaska and Hawaii and will still arrive in 2 days.
  • A box may arrive on or before your delivery date as we work to get all packages out in a timely manner and delivered for your event. If you have any questions, please call 866-YUM-BEEF (866-986-2333).
  • Order for delivery in advance to beat the holiday rush. All food orders must be placed to arrive before December 21st. Cannot place order to arrive December 22-29.
  • Your package could arrive before or after your selected delivery date. UPS is experiencing high volumes and packages may be delayed.
  • Italian beef is shipped frozen, it is normal for it to start to defrost, especially in hot temperatures.
  • Italian Beef & gravy can be stored in the fridge for 5-7 days, or frozen up to 3 months for best quality.

    We have bought these kits for years. The new packaging and rolls are disappointing. The quality has gone downhill. The price for this is just about not worth it.

    I'm struggling to live without a Portillos close enough to be a comfort food. We are begging you to look at the ROI in Stevensville, MD, as this small town sees millions of travelers on their way to the OCEAN, missing the best beef in America. They are a deprived people. Only you can make a difference in the lives of the millions missing out. BRING PORTILLOS TO THE EAST COAST FOR THE LOVE OF JESUS AN ALL THINGS HOLY!!!! WE NEED YOU!!!

    Everything was great. Although I noticed all the beef came in a single package this time. This was a bummer cause we were forced to eat all the beef in a few days. The last time it came in 2 packages and we could keep the other have frozen to enjoy later in the year. Still delicious but the new packaging doesn't work for our needs.

    I sent 2 orders, to Hampton NH and Royal Oak, MI. I grew up in Elmhurst IL near the original Portillos and whenever in town I always eat there at least once. The Italian beef is fabulous. The 2 gifts I set arrived still frozen and was enjoyed. I and both recipients were disappointedly surprised by the change in the single packaging of your meat. Your online site and the packages both described 2 1# bags of the meat - not 1 2# bag of beef. Love your product but disappointed in the change and seemingly a minor deception.

    Long time customer but very disappointed that they recently changed up what use to be delivered. One giant bag of meat and 16 mini-rolls don’t cut it! Please go back to the original rolls and 1 lb packs or you’ve lost a customer.

    Not what it used to be ! Between my friends and family we order 15-20 eight packs of Italian Beef which has ALWAYS come with two 1 lb beef packs, eight buns, two gravy packs, sweet and hot peppers. I just received one 2 lb beef pack (how am I supposed to divide a frozen hunk of beef) and 16 half size buns. I now can’t divide the order in half to keep an lb of beef in the freezer and who wants 16 half size buns ? The quality of the bread has gone down too. Quit being cheap and go back to two separate beef packs and eight full size buns or we are done with Portillos !

    Only complaints are we prefer the meat separated in half so we can heat the rest later. And we prefer the whole sub not 16 minis. In other words it was better before . Change isn’t always for the better.

    Your Italian beef is the best however, you changed the packaging. You used to ship all the beef separated into two packages now you combine it all into one package. I had to defrost the beef to break it up into two separate portions. Then Refreeze. You also took 8 inch bread and broke it down into 2 in bread rolls and now give us 16 small rolls. See picture. The Italian beef experience is dipping a beef sandwich into the gravy. Not a roll. Bring the beef sandwich back the way it was. Other than that I would have given it 5 stars. Portillos listen up! I lived in Illinois for 48 years, went to high school with the Portillo family. I went to Portillos weekly in Glendale Heights Illinois and villa park Illinois. Don’t start changing things, you will lose your best customers. Keep the Chicago tradition!!! A beef sandwich is long not a short roll!!

    The beef and delivery were good as usual but I hesitate to order again because the beef now comes in one pkg while the gravy comes in two pkg. This does not work in a two person household. Also disappointed that the beef/sausage combo is not available.

    Since it’s just for me and my wife….Hate the 2 lb. Single bag of meat. Had to saw it in half to portion it out. Every time you guys ship me this same order, you’ve change something ( plastic tubs to leaky bags) and not for the better! Food for thought?????

    Just received my order today. Every time we order these Italian sandwiches from Portillo’s, you change something. Now the beef came in one-2 lb. Bag and all the rolls are cut in half. ??. Trying to portion out the order when the meat is frozen is difficult. I used a saw! There’s just my wife and I here and as delicious as your sandwiches are, we can’t eat 8 of them in one sitting. Food for thought?? ??
