Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (Serves 8-10)

We experienced that same Portillos taste all the way down here in the South! (Arkansas) ! Full of flavor, and fresh! We paired with our homemade fried potatoes!

I’ve ordered tons of times…but, this last time, will be my last! It was packed poorly one half a package of bread was damaged with gravy juice that was punctured and had leaked out. Yes, 1/2 of the best part I didn’t bother calling because, I don’t want it to seem like I’m trying to get something for free I’m not. The shirt I ordered was the wrong color that should be updated on your website also. I haven’t been back home in a long time but, smashed soaked bread and a not a full two pouches of gravy count me out. Thanks for the 5 years of service.

Never received the order. FedEx sent me an email that the package was undeliverable because it was wet? One would think Portillos would know how to properly ship its food. Extremely disappointed with the entire experience and won't ever order anything from here again.

Unfortunately, I won't be recommending Portillos any longer. I've recommended you a ton this last handful of years, as to me you're iconic when it comes to your Italian beef. We've been ordering from you about 12 or so times over the last 6 years. It's been a while since my last order and it's all my son wanted for his birthday, traditional Chicago Italian hot beef sammies in Colorado! What came was Not what used to come, for the same price. We got about half the meat, you've dropped the size of the buns to half size, the peppers are halved in quantity and lacked the bright green just pulled out of the pot flavor, and to top it you've changed the recipe of the au jus! It's not at all that rich brothy goodness- way too peppery, super thin, such a bummer. This is the first time Ever my boys were not fighting for the last of the meat. I will be trying other establishments for the true Italian beef, as this is not it any longer. So bummed.

We order frequently and never disappointed. My husband says he could eat every night!!!

As usual - food was great, delivery right on time and condition in outstanding order. My complaints would mainly be around the packaging, specifically the gravy not being in reusable tubs any longer and I much preferred the full size sandwich buns as opposed to the half buns.

Not as good as it used to be. Bread was crumbled, a lot of fat in the gravy.

The product is delicious as always but they've changed the packaging. The meat used to be sent in 2 packages making it easy for a family of 2 to use it for multple meals. It's now 1 big package so you have no choice but to make the entire box in one sitting. A little disappointing.

shipped many times before all good , going down hill now , packaging not good buns smashed green peppers mushy some pack leaking beef now all in one pack,not much flavor or seasoning just not what it used to be. people i sent it to were disappointed and they had it many times before,

Food was great, but the delivery service left the box under my mailbox sitting in the sun. They didnt deliver it to my house. The food was just about starting to defrost. if I pay for delivery, I expect it to be delivered to my front door

Arrived on date requested. Absolutely delicious as usual. It was a hit with the neighbors who have never had Chicago Italian beef before. Only comment/recommendation is to include a little more sweet peppers or a way to order additional quantity.

What can I say? I'm originally from Chicago and love Portillo's! I live in California now and even though there's a Portillo's close to me in Buena Park, CA, I still love ordering from the website and having it delivered to my door. I order 5-6 times per year! Also, they used to have 8 larger rolls which was nice, but I've always made the suggestion to make them a little smaller and give you more rolls! Viola! Now they have 16 slightly smaller rolls! Absolutely LOVE everything about Portillo's.

The quality and packaging has decreased over the last 5 years. This last order was the worst. The packages leaked, the bread rolls are half the length of a real beef sandwich, the taste is nothing like the Beefs when Dick owned the company. I did contact customer support and as a resolution, I opted for a gift card instead of a refund. They did a good job and we will give them one more try.

what was great was how quick it shipped and how nicely it was packaged. beef, gravy, and peppers were great and the bread not so good. you guys could also improve by packaging the beef into two packages, instead of one, since you do that for the gravy and your customers would benefit by being able to freeze it. overall great product for mail order.

This was so disappointing, I placed this order for my daughter's birthday. She moved from Chicago to California and I wanted her to have a taste of home. The first order arrived with holes in the gravy pouch causing the rolls to be wet. She complained & was sent a replacement & again the gravy pouch leaked. She was told this never happened but happened to her twice. I will never send her Portillos again. The only positive part of this experience was her second email was answered promptly and I was reimbursed.

I wish they were in 1 pound packs instead of 3#. Also couldn’t find the beef/sausage combo that used to be sold. Always wonderful!!!

My son requested this for his 32 birthday. It was a big hit, everyone loved it. The package arrived the day before and it was frozen and had everything you needed for a great sandwich.

Was definitely not up to standards. I'm born and raised in Chicago and moved to Missouri and wanted a taste of home, so I ordered the Italian beef and when I got it, it looked great until I cooked the meat. It all fell apart and turned into a paste. It looked like someone put it all in a blender. It wasn't good at all. I will never ordered this again.

Sent beef package to sister as gift and when arrived the bottom and all items inside had gravy all over. Called customer service and they said this was acceptable. Thought nothing of it. As a gift my sister thought it was disgusting. I was embarrassed and to think Portillo’s cared less. Photo is of bottom of container did not take picture of items inside that had gravy in them. Customer service thought this was acceptable! Picture does not show that the gravy was loose on bottom and moved around. Have ordered several times before, twice last year and sent as gifts and never looked like this. Hope you get a better system and a caring customer service.
