Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (Serves 8-10)

I have ordered the beef kit quite a few times and I ordered this one for Thanksgiving dinner. The beef usually came in 2 packs now one big pack....I liked the 2 pack better. When thawed out the beef had several different cuts. Thick(too thick), shaved and some very fatty pieces. I was a little disappointed in the quality. Also the buns were a lot smaller than usual. It looks like from a different vendor. All in all we ate the beef sandwiches but it was not like I previously ordered. Not sure if I will order again.

I was very disappointed. I grew up in the nw suburbs of Chicago and ate Portillos a lot. The aujus wasn’t flavored very well, the beef was dry, and didn’t like the small buns. I don’t know why Portillos changed but not impressed by the changes at all.

Sandwiches were amazing along with the chocolate cake.

Too much Beef in one package. You changed it from two package of Beef to just one. A family of 4 can’t eat 2.5 pounds of Beef in one seating. Must offer something for smaller families.

We left the Chicagoland area 27 years ago and have had Portillos beef shipped to us COUNTLESS times over these years. We've been happy until this shipment. The new mini buns were a shock and are terrible. NOT like the old yummy buns. The beef came in ONE HUGE package instead of two. We did not plan to make it ALL AT ONCE and had to separate the beef WHILE STILL FROZEN. (Thank goodness for sharp cleavers) Don't change what isn't broken. We will NOT order/ship again. This is hugely disappointing to us as this was always such a big treat. No more.

I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and have always loved Italian beef so I usually order it once a year. The beef was good but the rolls are different and don’t hold together very well. I really don’t care for them. The shipment was well packed, still cold and arrived on time.

Your beef sandwiches are the best!! Love the thin, tender slices with lots of juice! The rolls are cooked just right for warming when ready to eat. A great family meal. Hurry and open your location here! We've heard you're on the way. Can't wait.

Paid for overnight shipping, got 2 day shipping. Contacted customer service and they refunded me the overnight shipping fee. Unfortunately, the product did not arrive on time for the recipient. A refund is the right thing to do, but do the job right the first time. If you cannot do overnight shipping than don't offer it. Also, why did you change the quantities of this tried and true product? Eight larger rolls with 2 pounds of meat with the package of sweet peppers, made for the perfect size of sandwiches with meat the bread ratio and sweet peppers. Now there are these tiny rolls, double the quantity if them and only a half pound more meat and no increase in sweet peppers? This ratio makes no sense. Bring back the old ratio of meat, rolls, sweet peppers. It worked for years, why change something if it's not broken?

Packaging has changed - it arrived in a 2lb. bag instead of a 1lb. bag and I was not able to use it all

I have been ordering the Italian Beef for years. They've made changes that I don't like. The bread used to be the same as what is served in the restaurants but not any more. They're smaller and just nothing special. The beef also used to be packaged in two packages. Now it only comes in one big one. I use one right away and freeze the other but that was much harder this time. I had to open the whole package, try to split it then seal in bags to freeze. Needless to say, I am very disappointed and won't have it shipped to my home again.

Unfortunately, Portillos decided to ship the Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (Serves 8-10) in a catering format. That means: All the beef in one package, no longer in two smaller packages. Therefore if only two people want sandwiches, you can’t save the other package for later….its one frozen block. The rolls are catering sized. I guess gone are the days you can actually order a regular sized sandwich from Portillos. Eh….just eat two or three of these….that’ll make up for one regular sized. Point is? Apparently no options for you, our loyal customers. Shipped to AR, but lived in Chicago for 56 years

First, I shipped to two nearby locations. Gifts to a couple of related families. One arrived in 2 days, and the other in 3 days. The difference is odd, because both deliveries were dispatched from the same regional shipping hub. "There was an issue with your delivery". You must schedule the use of this fine product with flexibility. The experience brings a lot of joy, but the outcomes are hindered by the uncertainty of the delivery services (This time FedEx).

We are from Indiana & since we moved to Texas we have had the Portillos beef sent to us each year on Halloween. It's been a tradition. Portillos is building a store very close to us & we are so excited to be able to go whenever we want. People in Texas do not know what they have been missing & I hope it's a hit with them so it stays open

We originally heard about this beef when we co-hosted a football dinner with a family from Chicago who had flown back with this beef for a Team Dinner in Derry, NH for 70+ high school football players… we all fell in LOVE with this in NH! We have ordered this Italian Beef Kit 2 times following that dinner, everyone says the same thing.. AMAZING ????

I was very disappointed in the change of packaging. I have ordered about 5 or 6 times over the last few years since moving from IL and have always been very satisfied. This order came with one package of beef (2.5 lbs.) instead of the usual two packages. With the two pack, I could open one for a few people or open two for a large group and not waste any beef. It gave us an option. Also the giardinara container was leaking due to the way it was packed. Also would like an option for MILD giardinara instead of HOT!

the small rolls are useless why a 4lnch beef sandwich when should be 6inch last order had the proper length bread who had this bright idea i have been eating your beefs since you opened your first store why the change last orderwas just fine this one not so much might not order again.

Haven't had Italian beef in ages when my brother told that Portillo's will ship I went on line to check it out and got my order with in 2 days. It was very good I have enough beef now for a while, as much as they sent out. The only thing we didn't like was the hot spicy Giardiniera to hot for our tast.

Quality has definitely gone down. The meat used to ship in 2 packages- I felt like the texture and taste was more consistent. This order almost seemed bland in comparison to past orders.

Please open Portillos in Atlanta. A lot of people from Chicago live there and will support it! We are huge fans! My sisters nieces and brother in law loved this order! Thank you

Always delicious

This was a solid Portillo's delivery, but the amount of product shipped has shrunk while the cost of it has stayed the same or increased. In particular, the rolls have gotten noticeable smaller, and the amount of gravy and beef seem to be smaller as well. If that doesn't bother you, then the package still scratches that Portillo's itch.

Your beef and pepper product is absolutely the best. Both gift recipients were pleased with product, packaging and delivery, THOUGH both were surprised about the one bag. Glad to see you product description is now updated.
