Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (Serves 8-10)

I sent this to relatives who are going through a really rough time. When they visited us here in Phoenix we took them to our old time favorite for Italian Beef. They were so excited to receive their package it truly made my day!!

Food was great. We served 8 people and everyone loved it. Only comment is that package arrived one day late.

It's disappointing that the regular size rolls are no longer available for shipping. It's also disappointing that the beef is in a 2.5 lb package, which means that this is no longer an option to order without having several guests to help eat it. Saving half the order for a later date is not safe.

Portillos Italian beef has been my standalone favorite sandwich in all of the United States. As as a traveling musician finding niche local food is one of the few things that keeps you sane on a long tour. This has always been my favorite sandwich. Recently I took my girlfriend to Chicago for the first time and portillos was our first stop after checking into the hotel and I was so excited to find her love for this sandwich maybe was more insane than mine. I ordered this package as a suprise but unfortunately had the date wrong and customer service was incredibly helpful and changed the shipping date. Upon arrival the package was the most exciting thing I may have ever unboxed. If you are not near Portillos…. Order it. The sandwiches are incredibly easy to make and every bit as good as in the store. We had so much fun spreading the sandwiches to friends that love the sandwich and are Chicago natives. 10/10 will order again often

This is the second time I purchased a beef sandwich kit for one of my daughter’s birthdays. Back in June, I sent my daughter that lives in Johnstown Ohio a beef sandwich kit. They both love the kits. They arrived intact and are of good quality. They also liked the fact that the hot Giardinera was included! They obviously love the taste and also receiving the Giardinara was a hit with both of them. The kits also arrived on time as promised, I am very happy thank you very much! Gary M.

Love being able to get real Italian beef shipped direct! It comes with everything and tastes just as delicious as getting it from the restaurant.

Bread arrived hard. I've ordered this many times and grew up eating Portillo's as I'm from the region. First time this has happened when shipped.

I 100% agree with Luanne in Washington and several other comments. Please take note of complaints with packaging changes. You are going to start losing that business because the changes are awful. Ive been ordering for 20 years and I'm really on the fence about doing it again. My love for the spices vs a large sandwich with a well packaged shipment is a difficult decision. There are other places that ship beef sandwiches. If you want to keep the business going strong put it back the way it was. The beef packaged together is my first complaint. We are small families not parties and restaurants. Having to cook all that meat for 2 people is ridiculous! Even when we have the kids over its 4 not 20! 2nd complaint the mini rolls ????? What is that? They do not taste the same! I don't order a beef sandwich for an appetizer. If anyone wants a smaller sandwich they can cut a roll in half. 3rd complaint yes the gravy leaks. We spend too much $ for that to be happening! PLEASE fix this

Perfect package, major improvements from years ago. Sandwiches and giardiniera are very good sizes. Gravy sauce in plastic bags are no leaking. Everything is world class services.

The order arrived on time and on the day it was supposed to. I would definitely order again.

Can’t believe how good the food is.

I have been ordering for 10+ years. My husband and I are from Chicago and with him in the military this is a taste from home. Always satisfied except for this order. I was very disappointed! Over half the meat contained fat! Please check your quality control. My son in law is a chef and we know what fat is. Had very little meat left by the time we trimmed off the fat. We've always enjoyed portillos over the years and hope to continue. However, please check the quality of your product.

Great food and price. The package arrived as scheduled, nice and cold. We invited lots of friends to come and it was fun to unpack the kit and get to preparing. The kit can easily feed 10 people. Thank you for making a memorable dinner Portillo’s.

Triple yum. This was my 75th birthday present to myself.

The shipping and packaging and product itself was amazing. It was delicious and perfect. Might have been even better than being at Portillo’s, as we got to keep dipping in that delicious gravy. It indeed served the amount of sandwiches advertised and we ate every bit of it. We actually had leftover rolls (which were also perfect). I miss them now that they are gone! Thank you Portillo, we will definitely be doing this again.

Bread for Italian beef could b a little bit bigger,other than that they were absolutely delicious

We have loved Portillos forever. Having moved to a State that has NO Portillos in it--we have had it shipped for MANY years--over 20. The new buns (16 small instead of 8 reg size) are terrible and NOT the same as the big buns. And one HUGE slab of frozen beef instead of the previous two smaller packages mean we have to cut that frozen chunk in half as we do not want nor need to eat it ALL at once. The last few times the bags of gravy also leaked and arrived far less than frozen which was not only MESSY but incredibly disappointing as shipping is expensive AND we want and expect every last drop of that stuff! Portillos DID send out another box--at no charge which we deeply appreciate yet sadly we won't be ordering it again. Sometimes it's better to leave things alone--change is not always good.

Was absolutely delicious. Have ordered before and will continue to order.
