On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 the Normal, IL Portillo’s location celebrated their 500th Day of business with the Special Olympics Illinois athletes and staff, and our OBSESSED guests! We were so excited to show our appreciation for the warm welcome the community has given us these past 500 days.
Throughout the month of March, Portillo’s donated 20% of all online orders in the Normal area to Special Olympics Illinois, totaling to a whopping $2,500! In addition to this donation, Portillo’s will be choosing winners who have placed online orders throughout this month for a variety of prizes, ranging from gift cards all the way up to a full year of free Portillo’s!
We want to give a big shout out to the Special Olympics athletes and their amazing staff members for making this such a special event for our guests. The highlight of the day was having the athletes, CEO, Dave Breen, and the rest of the Special Olympics team behind the counter rhyming orders to be picked up. Portillo’s would also like to thank Kathleen Lorenz with the Normal Town Council for attending. Finally, the last and biggest thank you goes out to the people of Normal. Thank you for supporting us over these last 500 days; we are so excited to continue to build our relationships with you all and we cannot wait to see what the next 500 days will bring!
