Portillo’s opened its 4th location in Arizona on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, with the grand opening of the fast casual’s new restaurant in Glendale, AZ. Fans camped outside early in the morning to be among the first to enjoy Portillo's unrivaled Chicago-style street food.
Safe and socially distanced, Portillo's fans were able to enjoy their food inside the new '50s themed restaurant, complete with an enormous Portillo's guitar propped on the ceiling. Diners also utilized the restaurant's drive-thru and curbside pickup services to eat from the comfort of their homes or picnic-style in their cars.
Prior to the grand opening, fans were invited to a free meal at Portillo's on Monday, April 19, 2021 and Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Portillo's asked that attendees consider donating to the Hope for Hunger Food Bank. Glendale fans who showed up to the sneak peek event proved to be incredibly generous, raising a total of $14,293 for the Glendale charity partner.
