The wait is almost over! Portillo’s with a capital P is getting ready to open in Springfield, IL. We are bun-believably excited to share that the grand opening for our newest restaurant will be held December 8, 2020.
Portillo’s has long called Illinois its home state, and we know Springfield residents and guests will only have fries for our Chicago-style hot dogs, famous Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers and homemade chocolate cake. So make sure you cake shake your way into the new restaurant, located at 3400 Freedom Drive, to enjoy a tasty meal.
The restaurant officially opens to the public at 10:30am on December 8. To celebrate the opening, we’ve created limited-edition location t-shirts that will be given to guests in the drive-thru, while supplies last.
To prioritize the safety and well-being of our team members and guests, as well as abide by local mandates related to COVID-19, the new restaurant will initially open for drive-thru business only. The restaurant will open for curbside, delivery, catering, and inside for dine-in guests at a later date.
Can’t wait until December to satis-fry your Portillo’s cravings? Don’t worry. The Beef Bus will be on-site to give fans a taste of Portillo’s, serving our famous Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, cheese fries and beverages. Beef Bus team members will wear masks; guests are required to wear facial coverings as well. We will also mark 6-foot distances in line, so guests can maintain social distancing. The Beef Bus will begin operating for lunch and dinner on weekdays starting November 10, 2020. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for exact hours of operation.
