Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (8 Sandwiches)

The quality was not as good as it used to be. The peppers turned to mush, in the beef fell apart before I got it in the gravy. There was a lot of shavings left over on this one. However, the taste was amazing and we had a wonderful time with the food. My mom is from Taylor St., Illinois, and my dad went to high school with Dick Portillo. It brought back a lot of memories.

It was shipped fast and the food was great. The only complaint is that one of the gravy packages had a hole in it so the little bit that did defrost during shipping leaked out onto the rest of the box and was a bit of a mess.

It was a horrible shipping experience. It was supposed to arrive on May 14 the day of my son-in-law’s birthday. It said it was to arrive by 3 PM. They had people coming over to celebrate his birthday and this was their dinner. Then the time changed to 8 PM that didn’t work for their dinner plans so they did something different for food as it turned out, it never came that evening It finally came late the next day. Very disappointing.

They said it was good, the only issue I had is, I asked to have it delivered on a certain day and it was delivered a day early. Which is fine if the person was there. Normally that’s a good thing something is delivered early but in this case it’s a business.

FEDEX is always late with the delivery. This time the peppers and rolls were thawed out and the inside of the box was stained from thawed contents.

Brings Chicago up to Minnesota! Everything is legit, and the step-by-step instructions help to get your meal taste just like you remembered. Love the hot peppers! We will order again!

Always great!!! Have ordered numerous times and have never had an issue or been disappointed. Only thing that would make it better… bring a location to O’Fallon MO!!!

I'm from Chicago and now live in California. I've been ordering from the Portillo's website for many years. The Italian Beef Kit always come still mostly frozen (it's shipped in 2 days) and it's just as good as it's always been. The "kit" comes with very specific instructions for re-heating to make sure everything turns out perfectly. I've ordered 2 of these Italian Beef Kits during the month of May!! I highly recommend Portillo's On-Line ordering.

Delish! I grew up in the Chi Subs and grew up on your Ital Beef. Spot on and just what I craved. My critique is the pouches the gravy comes in. I know even the containers used to leak but my pouch leaked and left a small mess inside the box and the styro. Luckily it was delivered a day early! YES! Extra bonus, so it wasn’t thawed enough to be more than a small inconvienience. I ziplocked it up and no more problem. Eaten in 2 separate meals Im pleased with my 3rd order and will be back for a 4th soon!

My future mother in law loved it. They had plenty so more than one meal and we got it for mother's Day so she wouldn't have to cook. Would definitely do again. I normally do portillo's catering but so glad I shipped as a gift

For the first time, the order came with a leak in the gravy bag(s), making the shipment soggy and the printed materials illegible. Good food that we enjoyed, yet please check the bag sealing machine as there were no apparent tears in the bags. All other products were great.

I've been eating at Portillo's since the early '70s. I've been having it shipped since I left Chicagoland. Portillo's made a mistake when they decided to ship the gravy for beef sandwiches in pouches instead of the more robust plastic containers with lids. Nearly every time I've ordered my beloved beefs, these pouches leak. This time the contents of the box were coated and the gravy leaked all the way out, staining the cardboard shipping box. Last time half of my rolls were ruined. The only thing saving the whole order is that most of the gravy is still frozen when it arrives. I LOVE the food. I've probably ordered it 1-2 times a year for the last 10 years. But I'm glad that they're building a Portillo's near me this year and I will no longer have to get my food by mail order. I have no other complaints about the packaging itself; food always arrives in good condition, almost fully frozen even here in Texas. It's just the gravy pouches. Go back to the better gravy buckets!

We are from Illinois originally and so happy to be able to order and have shipped here. We always ordered the beef and sausage combo but was told not available anymore. The sausage was the best part!! I would love to see it become available again!!!

Surprising amount of beef made generous sandwiches. Gravy & bread just like expected at Portillos in Chicago.

When I originally ordered Portillo’s for a birthday present, there was an issue. I’ve never seen a company correct an issue so fast! Portillos is number one in food and customer service!!
