How long have you been with Portillo’s and what made you want to work for us?
I have been with Portillo’s for 21 years in October. I was working for a small coffee franchise and needed benefits.
What do you love about Portillo’s?
I love the history of Portillo’s; Mr. Portillo started a little hot dog stand and grew into a multi-million-dollar corporation. No matter where you go, there is always someone who has heard of Portillo’s. Through all our growth, it still feels like we are a great big family. Always there for each other in happy and sad times.
How have you grown with your career at Portillo’s?
I was hired as a Training Assistant, then promoted to Recruiting Assistant, Recruiter, HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, and now HR Shared Services Representative.
What do you love about your position?
There are so many things that I love about my position! From promoting hourly Team Members to Crew Chiefs, Managers, Assistant General Managers, and even General Managers. Also, to answer questions from the field and provide help in any way I can.
What advice would you give to someone at Portillo’s looking to move up?
Remember that your career is in your hands. Don’t be afraid to work hard and prove yourself.
Where do see yourself growing in this company?
The next step that I would like to take is to become HR Shared Services Specialist.
